“This painting emerged following an upsetting visit to a friend who’d recently moved over 200 miles away from a place she’d lived for 30 years. She was sad, unhappy and depressed, feeling like she’d made a mistake and couldn’t see a way out. Her dog had tuned into her feelings becoming seriously ill.
After our visit she decided to sell up and move into the nearby city. She now loves her life, started a new career and her dog miraculously recovered. I’ll never forget her face before she moved. She was so depressed yet found the bravery to take another chance. I had to paint 'Lost Mojo' as her face haunted me, it captures the desperateness of her feelings. Almost as if she’s disappearing.”
