Self Portrait in Orange Jumper

Joshua Clarke

Escape is impossible with no legs with which to run.

"I use art as exorcism. My self portraits allow me to articulate and process complex feelings and states of mind around anxiety, depression and body dysmorphia.

I am constantly unsure of myself, unable to trust thoughts and even unable to form a mental picture of my appearance to others or myself. Art helps ground me, and gives me power over the anxiety and existential boredom that modern life facilitates."
